Swings and Mudcakes

Yesterday afternoon was beautiful. The weather was great. The girls were able to play outside for a while as I sat in the swing and watched and took pictures! Madison loves to twist the swing and then let it unwind. I probably did such a thing as a kid but now the thoughts of it makes it sick to the stomach. She has great fun and will do that over and over and over.
Meka had great fun making mudpies.

Michael had great fun checking out all his plants and trees. We finished the great evening by making Coffee Cup Cakes. I let the girls put in all the ingredients etc. for their cakes. They had such fun making their own cakes. They enjoyed eating them pretty well too. I have to say though, I tried a bite and it wasn't all that (you microwave them) but the girls loved it.

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since last Wednesday. I guess we just don't lead very exciting lives.

No much has been going on. Just the usual. Meka had horseback riding lessons yesterday and ballet. It was a beautiful day for horseback riding and she loved it, of course. I'll post some pictures that I took back in the fall of her riding (since I haven't taken any since then:).
I have been up since 4 am with Madison (I didn't go to bed until after 1 am so I am not a happy camper). For some reason if she doesn't get a nap in the afternoon and falls asleep the lest bit earlier than her normal bed time (I am talking 30 minutes earlier) then she gets up at 4 am. I don't know why but you can bank on it! The thing is, if she does get a nap then she is up until at least 11 pm! I don't know, I thought children needed more sleep than that! Anyway, she is still cute as a bug and my baby. Like my niece used to say "I'm the baby, gotta love me!"

These pictures are just cute. They also are from the fall. I need to get the camera out. I haven't taken a picture of the girls in over a week!

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Madison being her cute and goofy self.

These are from the little bit of snow we had a couple of weeks ago. Madison was taking a nap and didn't get to play in it.

Weekend stuff

We had a very busy weekend. The weather was just beautiful! We attended two birthday parties on Saturday. They were in two different towns and it took me 40 minutes to get from to the other. The girls enjoyed both parties but were totally partied out by the time we left the second party.

Also, this weekend our church held it's annual missions conference and we hosted the luncheon on Sunday afternoon at our house. The girls had a blast with all their friends being here for most of the afternoon. I remember as a child, my parents would have people over for lunch after church and they would fellowship the whole afternoon. It was great, I loved it. Those are special memories I have as a child and I hope that these are memories that our girls will have as well. We love our church family! There is no better way to spend a warm March Sunday afternoon!

Thankful Thursday

Several bloggers do "Thankful Thursday" so I thought I would do that today.

1. I am so very thankful that God blessed us with two wonderful daughters. I just can not imagine my life without them and don't even want to try! We have had a week of appointments. Madison had her EUA on Monday, Meka had her 5 year old checkup on Wednesday, and today Meka had her 6 month dental cleaning. She is such a brave girl. She even let them take pictures of her teeth today. She is setting such a good example for her little sister, who will have her first dental appointment right after Meka's in 6 months. She did really well for her doctor appointment too except when it came to getting a shot. She was so upset. If I could have taken the shot for her, I would have! This is what her face looked like when she was told she was getting a shot. Not much has changed in four years. This picture by the way was taking during her medical exam in China in June of 2005.2. I am so very thankful that God blessed me with an absolutely wonderful husband who is driving 30 minutes home tonight to be with me because I am nervous about the person who has been doing the breakins. Michael is on call tonight at another hospital tonight that is a good 30 minutes away. He usually just sleeps there, especially since he has to work there tomorrow. I am so relieved that he is coming home!

3. I am so thankful for my girlfriends! It is like that saying "A true friend knows all about you and likes you anyway." Well, they know all about me but like me anyway and I am forever thankful for friends that don't judge but say "I am right there with ya sister!"

4. I am so very thankful that I live in America! I love my country! I am just prayin that is doesn't go to %&#@ in a hand basket.

5. I am so very thankful for a pastor that teaches the Bible and doesn't sugarcoat or tickle ears! We are so very blessed to have him as our pastor. He is a great teacher!

6. I am so very thankful for our family. I love all of them so very dearly, more than they will ever know. It just makes me want to cry thinking about! Sure, we have our "issues" but I love them anyway.

Well, I am getting carried away. All of this to say that it is a thankful day every day!

Father Daughter Dance

These are about the only photos I have of the occasion. I, of course, didn't go so the only picture we have of the actual event is this one. I have no pictures of them dancing together, wish I did! Michael said that Meka was a wonderful date and wanted to dance with him the whole time. She loves her Daddy!
This picture was taken at our friends house before the dance. I just like it!
This is a picture of my hair fixin handy work:) Not! I stink at fixin hair but I thought it turned out pretty cute.
Meka and her friend Sadie! The dance was at Sadie's preschool.

Madison's Exam Under Anesthesia

Madison had her EUA (Exam Under Anesthesia) yesterday. She got a very good report and doesn't have to go back until July. In July they will do another EUA and a MRI. I was very nervous this time that they would find something in her right eye. I don't know why, just was. But praise God there has been no sign of Retinoblastoma in her right eye! Her doctor said that everything looks great. We are so thankful for everyone's prayers.

Michael took Meka to a father/daughter dance on Friday night and I am going to try and get pictures posted of that today.
